Indiana States mens basketball team struggled at first in its game of a three-game Canadian exhibition swing, but the Sycamores prevailed with improved second half shooting to beat the University of Windsor 58-50 on Saturday.
Windsor led 28-19 at halftime, and according to ISU coach Royce Waltman, the Lancers packed the middle, making easy baskets in the lane tough to come by.
We tried to over-penetrate at times, and we didnt make enough shots, said Waltman in a telephone interview. In the second half, we started scoring points.

Lithuania crushes Canada at worlds
Canadas womens basketball team lost 84-58 to Lithuania in its second game of the world championships yesterday.
Tammy Sutton-Brown of Markham led Canada with 11 points. Amanda Brown of Montreal had 10 points in the losing effort.
They really came out hard, said coach Allison McNeill. We were pretty flat to start and unfortunately we just couldnt make shots. They were a very, very good team.

Canadas womens eight boat is on to the final at the world rowing championships, while the mens eight and mens pair crews have advanced to the semifinals.
The womens eight finished second in its repechage race Thursday in six minutes, 10.26 seconds, despite losing time when Sabrina Kolker of West Vancouver slipped off her seat in the early part of the race.
We were down, but we edged back, said Kolker. It was in the first 500 metres, but I just got back and stayed as calm as possible.
