Canada to play Hungary in soccer friendly
The Canadian mens soccer team will face Hungary in an international exhibition match, the Canadian Soccer Association announced Wednesday.
The contest is scheduled for Nov. 15 in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
Hungary is ranked No. 59 in the current FIFA rankings. Canada is 71st.
Canada has won two in a row and is undefeated in its last four exhibition games and is coming off a 1-0 victory over Jamaica in Montreal on Sept. 3.

U.S. add friendlies against Canada and Japan
CHICAGO – The United States will open its 2006 soccer schedule with a friendly against Canada on Jan. 22 at San Diego.
The Americans, preparing for the World Cup in Germany, will play Japan on Feb. 10 at San Francisco, according to an e-mail sent this week to fans by the U.S. Soccer Federation. Last month, it announced a match with Norway on Jan. 29 in Carson, California.
The three games follow a training camp starting on Jan. 4 in Carson.

The Canadian womens soccer team has stretched its unbeaten streak to six games.
Veteran Charmaine Hooper scored a hat trick to lead Canada to a 4-2 win over Sweden on Tuesday night while Christine Sinclair also scored in a friendly that was part of the Schwan USA Cup tournament.
The players came out very strong and determined and it was only a question of time before we scored with Sinclair and Hooper looking very sharp in the first half, said coach Even Pellerud. The better team won this even played, tempo filled game.
